Van Jones Slams Woke Movement as ‘Ridiculous’

It seems like the “woke” agenda has once again hit a wall, and this time, it splashed red ink all over the bottom lines. When “Lightyear” decided to shoot for the stars with woke inclusion, it seemed no one bothered to check if Buzz’s boosters were fueled up. The box office crash landing was heard around the world as it lost $106 million globally. It’s a classic case of ideals meeting reality and getting totally outgunned.

The buzzword bingo of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) has been blasted across corporate halls for years now. However, even some Democrats are waking up to these tactics’ effects on company coffers and workplace morale. Van Jones, a veteran on the left, surprisingly dropped a truth bomb, saying enough is enough. Management is spending more time navigating the minefields of offended feelings on Slack than focusing on profitability and productivity.

Picture the workplace as one big group therapy session instead of a place to, you know, get work done. With every minor social injustice turning the office Slack channel into a mini-battlefield, the focus is lost. Apparently, things got so out of hand that sometimes counselors had to be called in. And just a quick reminder, folks, companies aren’t summer camps; they’re supposed to be cash-making machines.

Once upon a time, having those “reckonings” might have seemed progressive, a necessary social exploration. Yet, it appears that trip’s bill came due, and the only thing that got “wrecked” was the bottom line. It’s as if they drove full speed ahead without noticing the “bridge out” sign, deciding feelings mattered more than financial facts. Who could have guessed this would backfire?

Maybe it is time to leave the navel-gazing behind and steer the ship back toward profitability and common sense. Van Jones is not mad, just astounded by how far off the rails things have gone. Perhaps it’s the perfect moment to shrug off the shackles of performative policies and get back to basics: focusing on business. After all, isn’t the bottom line really what matters at the end of the day?
