As the first woman to hold the position, Vice President Kamala Harris has been working hard alongside President Joe Biden to address various issues facing the country. Since the beginning of 2024, Harris has traveled to numerous states, making 35 trips to 16 different states. Her latest initiative, the “Economic Opportunity Tour,” focuses on the administration’s investments in small businesses and underserved communities. Harris has also been a vocal advocate for reproductive rights, frequently discussing the administration’s stance on abortion and criticizing former President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominees for their role in overturning Roe v. Wade.

Last year, Harris traveled to London to address the potential threats posed by artificial intelligence to human rights. She announced new measures to regulate the AI industry and urged world leaders to prioritize the well-being of humanity over profits. Additionally, Harris has been a strong proponent of addressing gun violence, visiting Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, to discuss the administration’s efforts in curbing this issue.
In her interactions with young voters, Harris has emphasized her role as a black woman and a younger figure in politics, aiming to engage and retain the support of young people as the 2024 general election approaches. Furthermore, Harris was chosen to lead the Biden administration’s approach to the southern border, focusing on addressing root causes of migration from countries like Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala.
Despite her efforts, some critics have suggested that her work as the “border czar” has fallen short, as border crossings have increased under the Biden administration. Harris remains committed to her various roles and continues to promote the administration’s policies and initiatives across the country.
