Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, visited the National Defense University (NDU) in the Pentagon on Monday and was treated like a king by American defense officials. When Zelensky made his case for more of that hard-earned American taxpayer help to Ukraine, the top brass couldn't quit swooning over him. Air Force Lt. Gen. Michael Todd Plehn, the president of NDU, essentially pulled out the red carpet, praising Zelensky's arrival as a "high honor."
The next person to hammer home the point was Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who referred to Zelensky as "living proof" of how one person's leadership can alter the course of history. The United States' resolve to assisting Ukraine is "unshakeable," he even said. How about packing it on deep! Not only did the students give Zelensky a standing ovation, but C.Q. Brown, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, also joined in the applause.
With Zelensky coming to DC this week to ask for more money, I will continue to vote AGAINST sending your tax $$ to corrupt oligarchs in Ukraine for a proxy war that could have ended in '22.
A peace deal was on the table that ?? and ?? were both ready to sign, but Biden said NO.

However, everything wasn't sunshine and flowers. Zelensky used the occasion to attack Russian President Vladimir Putin and caution the United States that delaying assistance to Ukraine would only serve to embolden him. He even made disparaging remarks about World War II American troops, hinting that U.S. military assistance to Ukraine is equally important. Come on, Zelensky, don't treat our warriors so disrespectfully!
Zelensky is mingling with D.C. insiders in the interim, but the Biden administration is requesting an astounding $106 billion in additional financing, of which an astounding $61 billion is designated for Ukraine. That is a significant amount of money coming out of American pockets for a nation located halfway around the globe. Republicans in Congress are adamant that the Biden administration not move too quickly, despite the fact that it is practically pleading for support for Ukraine. Until there is a significant change in border policies, they will not budge on providing additional help to Ukraine. You are aware that it is a struggle worth seeing.
Therefore, the fundamental question is this: Should American taxpayers continue to spend large sums of money in Ukraine, or is it time to start addressing issues at home? Zelensky is preparing to meet with President Biden and members of Congress. Folks, these are the tough questions that require answers! Await the upcoming "Zelensky's D.C. Adventure" episode.
