Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) stands by President Joe Biden, touting his “successes” and defending the president against concerns over his mental sharpness. Despite critics raising questions about Biden’s memory and cognitive abilities, Ocasio-Cortez remains steadfast in her support for the commander-in-chief.
In a recent interview, the congresswoman went on to praise Biden, labeling him as “one of the most successful presidents in modern American history.” She specifically highlighted the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act and the American Rescue Plan as noteworthy accomplishments during Biden’s first term.
When confronted with criticisms about the president’s mental acuity, Ocasio-Cortez brushed off concerns, pointing out President Donald Trump’s similar age and dismissing the importance of age-related issues. She suggested that Trump, being close in age to Biden, is also subject to the same scrutiny but went further to emphasize his indictment count.
Furthermore, Ocasio-Cortez highlighted the lack of competition in the Democratic primary, indicating the absence of viable contenders in the race against Biden. She confidently asserted that voters have already rejected other candidates and expressed hope for Biden’s reelection as president.
