Sanchez made the announcement at the 2024 Election Season Kickoff event held by the Hispanic Republicans of Texas PAC. As a staunch advocate for law enforcement and safety, Sanchez cited the GOP’s emphasis on law and order and support for the police as the driving force behind her decision. With a background in law enforcement, Sanchez has been serving as the Kleberg County attorney since 2014. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the Specialized Crimes and Narcotics Task Force. Notably, Texas law enforcement has seized a staggering 426 million lethal doses of fentanyl since March 2021.
