President Biden continued to shirk responsibility for the border crisis during a press conference in front of the White House on Tuesday. With Marine One rumbling in the background, Biden claimed that he has done everything in his power to address the chaos at the border and pointed the finger at Republicans, demanding they pass new legislation to solve the issue. It’s as if he’s saying, “Not my problem, check with the other guys!”
But let’s face it, Biden’s excuses don’t hold water. He’s got plenty of tools at his disposal to fix the mess at the border. House Speaker Mike Johnson schooled Biden on his authority, calling out Biden for either lying or being misinformed about his powers. Johnson highlighted specific authorities, such as the Presidential Authority to Restrict Entry 212(f), Expedited Removal 235(b)(1), Discretionary Detention Authority 236(a), and Mandatory Detention 236(c), that Biden could be using to address the crisis. No more excuses, Mr. President!
"Have you done everything you can do with executive authority [on the border]?"

Johnson stressed that Biden must take immediate executive action to undo the disaster he created. The Immigration and Nationality Act and recent Supreme Court decisions provide him with the necessary authority. It’s time for Biden to put his foot down and take charge. Johnson’s office even released a detailed memo outlining the numerous executive actions Biden has taken to fuel the current catastrophe. It’s clear that Biden is clutching onto incompetence like it’s a life raft.
It’s not rocket science! There are plenty of measures Biden can implement right now to stem the flow of illegal immigration, but it seems like he’s more interested in playing the blame game than actually doing something about it. It’s time for the administration to stop dancing around the issue and start taking real action. The border crisis won’t fix itself, and it’s high time for Biden to step up and show some actual leadership.
