President Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has once again exhibited its incompetence by releasing an Afghan migrant into the US who was later discovered to be on the government’s terrorist watchlist. This shocking revelation comes from NBC News, which reported that Mohammad Kharwin, a 48-year-old member of the terrorist group Hezb-e-Islami, was released into the US interior despite Border Patrol agents suspecting his ties to terrorism.
The Biden administration’s reckless Catch and Release policy strikes again as Kharwin was even enrolled in the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Alternatives to Detention (ATD) program, allowing him to roam freely in the country, apply for asylum, and work in the US. To add insult to injury, this dangerous individual was permitted to board domestic commercial flights, posing a serious threat to the safety and security of Americans.

Despite the FBI’s discovery of Kharwin’s ties to terrorism, it’s astounding that he was allowed to bond out of ICE custody for a meager $12,000 and was not subjected to any restrictions by the judge who oversaw his case. It’s a glaring example of the Biden administration’s failed immigration policies and their disregard for public safety.
This alarming situation underscores the urgent need for comprehensive immigration reform and a secure border.
