After nearly a year of dilly-dallying and dawdling, President Joe Biden is finally considering using his executive powers to tackle the crisis at our southern border. It’s about time, Mr. President! His administration has been floundering on this issue for too long while Republicans have been raring to go, making the border a hot topic for the upcoming 2024 elections.

Despite the slight drop in illegal border crossings, Biden is still scratching his head for a solution. But hold on to your hats, because there’s a catch! Biden might be banking on the same executive power that former President Trump used for his infamous “Muslim ban.” Talk about a knock-off strategy! I mean, come on, Joe, be original!
Biden seems unsure if he even has the authority to pull this off, openly admitting, “We’re examining whether or not I have that power.” If that’s not a red flag, I don’t know what is. And let’s not forget about Alejandro Mayorkas, Biden’s Homeland Security Secretary, who might be facing an impeachment trial in the Senate for his alleged border bungling. The administration seems to be more lost than a goose in a snowstorm.
But wait, there’s more! Even if Biden manages to issue an executive order, without the green stuff (that’s money for all you kiddos out there), it’s just like trying to paddle a boat without water – pointless! Congress holds the purse strings and they’ve been giving Biden the cold shoulder when it comes to securing the border. It’s a classic case of “Sorry, no can do, Joe!”
And let’s not overlook the fact that Biden’s own Democratic base is giving him side-eye over his border blunders. A group of progressives is warning him not to follow in Trump’s footsteps on border policies. They’re practically yelling, “Don’t make the same mistakes, Joe!” If Biden wants to keep his left-leaning supporters on his side for the 2024 election, he’ll need to get his act together.
