The meeting was an opportunity for the two leaders to touch base, but it’s clear that Biden will stop at nothing to cozy up to a communist regime. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan suggested that the United States is eager to restore military ties with China, as President Biden looks to roll out the red carpet for Xi. It’s a head-scratcher: why does Biden want to buddy up with the same country that has repeatedly threatened U.S. national security and economic interests?

Sullivan revealed that discussions between Biden and Xi would focus on re-establishing military communication links that the Chinese had cut off. It’s like the Biden administration is bending over backward just to get a smidgen of attention from China. Meanwhile, the Biden-Xi meeting was also expected to cover a laundry list of global issues, from the Israel-Hamas war to North Korea’s ties with Russia. Instead of putting America first, Biden is spending time negotiating with countries that have a history of being untrustworthy and undermining our interests.
The tension between the U.S. and China escalated after Biden ordered the shooting down of a suspected Chinese spy balloon in February. But rather than standing firm in the face of Chinese aggression, the Biden administration has been making trips to Beijing, trying to rebuild trust and restore communications. It’s like the Biden administration is begging Xi for forgiveness, when it should be taking a firm stance against a country that has repeatedly threatened our security and economic well-being.
It’s clear that the Biden administration is more interested in pandering to China than protecting American interests. The headlines should be focused on putting America first, not on Biden’s efforts to cozy up to a country that has repeatedly undermined our nation.
