Meanwhile, Rep. Cory Mills, a Republican lawmaker and Army veteran, took matters into his own hands, assisting in the evacuation of 32 American citizens from Israel. Drawing on his experience in Iraq, Mills stated that he felt it was necessary to step in and help when individuals were stranded due to canceled flights. Showing resourcefulness and determination, he expressed his commitment to the safety and well-being of fellow Americans.
In a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, 146 members of Congress called on the Biden administration to use all available resources, including chartering flights and exploring military options, to evacuate Americans from Israel. The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas has led to numerous airlines suspending their flights to and from Israel, further complicating the situation for those seeking to leave the country.
