In an inspiring and refreshing display of true American initiative, Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis have been working tirelessly to ensure the safe return of Americans stranded in Israel. Mills, who previously helped evacuate U.S. citizens from Afghanistan during the botched withdrawal under the Biden administration, stepped up once again to fill the void left by the incompetent State Department.

Mills shared that he had already brought 96 Americans back home from Israel and even secured a charter plane with a capacity of 218 passengers. But what sets his efforts apart from the Biden team’s is the cost – Mills’ flights are provided completely free of charge. Yes, you heard that right. While the Biden administration wants to bill Americans for their own rescue, Mills is stepping in as the hero we need.

Unsurprisingly, federal law actually requires the government to provide reimbursement for evacuation assistance. However, this law only seems to be applied selectively by the Biden administration. They conveniently ignore their obligation to protect Americans at the border, but suddenly become sticklers for “law” when it comes to charging citizens for their own safety. It’s clear where their priorities lie, and unfortunately, it’s not with the American people.
This administration seems to have no problem wasting taxpayer money on frivolous political agendas or handing it out like candy to countries like Ukraine. They have no qualms about spending exorbitant amounts to house and feed illegal aliens and relocate them across the nation. Yet, when it comes to their primary responsibility of defending American citizens, they hide behind the law and conveniently forget their duty.
Thankfully, we have leaders like Cory Mills who are willing to step up and take action. They show us that there are always options and solutions if you care enough to look for them. It’s about time we had leaders who put Americans first, instead of prioritizing their own self-interests and political games. Mills and DeSantis have once again proven that Republicans are the ones looking out for the American people.
