378 days. That’s how long it took for President Biden to finally visit the citizens of East Palestine, Ohio, after a toxic train derailment devastated their lives. But hey, better late than never, right? Well, not according to the people of East Palestine who are slamming Biden for his delayed and seemingly politically motivated visit.
During his campaign, Biden promised to be a president for all Americans, regardless of political affiliation. But it seems he conveniently forgot about Ohio, a state that went red in 2020, as he jetted off to Ukraine instead of addressing the crisis right in his own backyard. Coincidence? I think not.

Now, the citizens of East Palestine are speaking out, and they are not mincing words. One business owner went as far as suggesting they should block the entrance of the town to prevent Biden from showing up. Ouch! It’s clear that the people of East Palestine feel like they’re being used as pawns in Biden’s political game. And frankly, who can blame them?
One resident summed up the frustration perfectly, questioning Biden’s motives for visiting so late in the game. It’s been a year of uncertainty, health concerns, and unanswered questions for the people of East Palestine. And they have every right to be fed up with a president who couldn’t be bothered to show up when it really mattered.
But let’s not forget about former President Trump, who made a point to visit East Palestine shortly after the derailment. Trump may have his flaws, but at least he had the decency and respect to show up and offer support to the community. It’s a stark contrast to Biden, who seems more interested in pandering to his political base than actually serving the American people.
The truth is, the citizens of East Palestine deserved better. They deserved a president who would prioritize their safety and well-being, regardless of the state’s political leanings. But instead, they got Biden, a president who chose to ignore their plight until it became politically advantageous for him to show up. It’s insulting, it’s infuriating, and it’s a clear reminder that we need leaders who actually care about the American people, not just their own political careers.
