In a not-so-surprising turn of events, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre shut down questions about President Joe Biden’s mental acuity during the daily briefing on Tuesday. Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy dared to touch the untouchable subject, asking about a questionable statement from Biden at an event in Las Vegas. The President claimed to have had a chat with former French President Francois Mitterrand, who, in case you missed it, shuffled off this mortal coil back in the ’90s.
Doocy grilled Jean Pierre, hitting her with the tough question of how Biden plans to convince the three-quarters of voters who are sweating bullets over his mental and physical health that he’s A-Okay. The press secretary wasn’t having any of it, shutting down Doocy’s inquiries faster than a squirrel can snatch an acorn. She deftly sidestepped the issue, swiftly moving on to someone – anyone – else in the room.

In case you missed it, Biden struggled through his jumbled words, claiming that “Mitterrand from Germany – I mean, from France” had a little chat with him. Yes, you read that right. It seems like the wires got a little crossed in the old noggin. But hey, who needs coherent and accurate storytelling? Certainly not the leader of the free world, right?
What’s truly mind-boggling is that President Biden’s personal physician has remained as elusive as a unicorn when it comes to fielding questions from the media.
