President Biden has once again shown his true colors by targeting the rights of law-abiding gun owners with his new executive order on firearms. Second Amendment advocates are rightfully outraged, arguing that the president’s new order would violate constitutional rights and punish innocent gun owners while doing nothing to stop criminals from committing crimes.

The National Rifle Association has stood up to Biden’s misguided policies, pointing out that it’s not guns that commit crimes, but criminals. The focus should be on stopping violent criminals and punishing them, not on taking away the rights of law-abiding Americans. “The focus of our laws and efforts should be on the criminal element and not on law-abiding Americans,” the NRA said in a statement.

However, Biden’s new executive order will expand background checks to more firearm sales, effectively targeting legal gun owners instead of criminals. The American Firearms Association’s executive vice president, Patrick Parsons, said that the legislation would only benefit criminals while taking away the rights of law-abiding citizens to protect themselves.
The gun lobby vows to fight back against what they see as tyrannical, unconstitutional dictates from the Biden Administration, promising to take legal action against the order. Gun Owners of America claims that Biden is just searching for any excuse to restrict law-abiding citizens from owning a firearm.
Republican Rep. Thomas Massie has called out Biden’s anti-gun policies, pointing out that the president signed the order in a “gun-free zone,” which still faces rampant violent crime. Massie called Biden’s policies science fiction and claimed that they won’t solve a single crime.
It’s time for President Biden to stop punishing the innocent and start targeting the real problem: violent criminals. The focus should be on keeping guns out of the hands of criminals, not taking away the rights of law-abiding citizens. We must fight back against this anti-gun agenda and protect our Second Amendment rights.
