In yet another unsurprising move, President Joe Biden is determined to continue his obsession with burdening hardworking taxpayers with the crippling weight of student loan debt. Despite the Supreme Court’s wise decision to strike down his initial plan, Biden is shamelessly pushing forward with a new version. It’s as if he enjoys ignoring the will of the people and trampling on the Constitution.

Biden, in his usual fashion, feigned concern for struggling Americans during his announcement in the White House’s Roosevelt Room. He claimed that his administration was working tirelessly to deliver student debt relief. But let’s be honest, his definition of relief is just shifting the burden onto the already overwhelmed taxpayer.
While Biden pretends to champion education, he conveniently ignores the fact that a college degree has become exorbitantly expensive. Instead of addressing the root causes of this problem, he chooses to throw billions of dollars at it, perpetuating the vicious cycle of student loan debt.
To add insult to injury, the Biden administration has already offloaded a staggering $127 billion of student debt onto the public purse. As if that’s not enough, an additional $9 billion worth of new debt relief is now being made available to 125,000 borrowers. It’s as if Biden believes money grows on trees or magically appears every time he signs an executive order.
Of course, Biden aims to appease his left-wing base with his plan. He’s allocating $5.2 billion to 53,000 borrowers under Public Service Loan Forgiveness programs. It’s nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to shower government employees and bureaucrats with yet another gift at the expense of the hardworking taxpayer.
But Biden doesn’t stop there. He’s also allocating $2.8 billion to 51,000 borrowers through income-driven repayment programs and $1.2 billion to 22,000 disabled borrowers. While there’s no denying the importance of assisting those in need, it’s clear that Biden is playing politics and using taxpayer money as a political tool.
Meanwhile, as Biden announces his grand plan, 45 million student loan borrowers are forced to resume making payments. These hardworking individuals have been stripped of the grace period that gave them some semblance of relief during the trying times of the pandemic. Instead of alleviating their burdens, Biden adds insult to injury.
It’s truly suffocating for these borrowers, as one of them painfully expressed. They’re drowning in a sea of debt, while Biden continues to pretend that his solutions are the answer. But the truth is, his plan is nothing more than a band-aid on a gaping wound. It’s a political move designed to pander to his base without addressing the real issues at hand.
It’s crucial that we recognize Biden’s student loan plan for what it truly is – a reckless, unsustainable, and ineffective solution to a complex problem. We must demand real solutions and fiscal responsibility instead of falling for the false promises and political gimmicks of the left. Our hardworking taxpayers and future generations deserve better.
