In a stunning display of overreach, Representative Joaquin Castro, a Democrat from Texas, has urged President Biden to seize control of the Texas National Guard. Castro’s call comes as a response to Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s firm stance on securing the border. It seems like Democrats can’t handle the fact that Texas is taking its constitutional right to self-defense seriously.

Let’s break this down. Castro wants President Biden to remove the Texas National Guard from the command of the state and place them under federal control. Why? Because Governor Abbott has made it clear that Texas will not back down from its efforts to secure the border in the absence of meaningful action from the Biden administration. It’s downright outrageous that Democrats are trying to undermine the governor’s authority and disarm the courageous men and women who are on the front lines defending our border.
But here’s the million-dollar question: what would the Texas National Guard’s orders be if they were placed under federal control? Would they be expected to assist federal officers in opening the floodgates to illegal immigrants? And what happens if members of the Texas National Guard refuse to comply with this unconstitutional power grab? It’s just another example of how out of touch Democrats are with the American people. They want to use our own military against us, all in the name of appeasing their radical open-border agenda.
Meanwhile, Senator Joe Manchin, who likes to pretend he’s a moderate, is suggesting that President Biden should declare a national emergency over the illegal immigration crisis. Let’s not forget that this is the same Joe Manchin who is consistently unreliable when it comes to standing up for conservative values. Declaring a national emergency would give Biden unprecedented powers, including the ability to deploy troops and bypass Congress. But let’s be honest, it’s highly unlikely that Biden will do anything to secure our border. This administration has spent years downplaying the crisis and turning a blind eye to the invasion happening on our southern border.
The situation is getting more unsettling by the day. Governor Abbott is standing up for the Constitution, while the Biden administration is failing in its duty to secure the border. Texas has had enough, and rightfully so. The Constitution is on Governor Abbott’s side, and the plain language of Article I, § 10, Clause 3 supports his claim. It’s crystal clear that the influx of 6 million illegal aliens since January 2021 is nothing short of an invasion.
The Biden administration better think twice before messing with Texas. We won’t back down, and we won’t let the Democrats strip us of our rights to defend our border. This fight is about the very fabric of our nation, and Texas will not back down in the face of tyranny.
It’s truly baffling how the left, led by politicians like Castro and Manchin, can so casually disregard the Constitution and advocate for the erosion of states’ rights. This isn’t about politics; it’s about the safety and sovereignty of our nation. Texans have every right to protect themselves and their state from the consequences of the border crisis, and it’s high time that the Biden administration starts taking this issue seriously.
