Arizona resident Jacob Chansley, famously recognized as the "QAnon Shaman" for his role in the January 6, 2021 riot, has surprised many by declaring his candidacy for Congress in the 2024 election. At 35 years old, Chansley has submitted a statement of interest to run as a Libertarian for the 8th Congressional District seat in Arizona, currently held by Rep. Debbie Lesko, R-Ariz., who has opted not to seek re-election.
