In a recent interview with CNN’s Abby Phillip, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) made some incredibly naive and misguided remarks regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. When asked about Israel’s response to a vicious attack, AOC suggested that a ceasefire should not be one-sided, implying that Hamas should get a free pass. This is an absurd notion that completely disregards Israel’s right to self-defense. It’s clear that AOC doesn’t want Israel to deal with the terrorists who seek to destroy them.

During the interview, AOC also accused Israel of engaging in an “indiscriminate attack,” which is a baseless and unfounded claim. Israel goes to great lengths to protect civilian lives, even warning them in advance of possible ground invasions. On the other hand, Hamas actively encourages civilians to stay and act as human shields. AOC’s nonsensical response to the conflict only serves to hamper Israel’s ability to defend itself and uphold the rules of engagement.
Furthermore, AOC’s call to take in refugees from Gaza is nothing short of absurd. Why would we welcome individuals from an area filled with people who hate us and support those responsible for killing and kidnapping Americans? Even neighboring countries refuse to take in these refugees. It’s astonishing that Democrats would prioritize the interests of those who pose a potential danger to Americans over our own security and well-being.
Overall, AOC’s remarks demonstrate a stunning lack of understanding and appreciation for the complexities of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Her naive foreign policy approach, shared by some members of the Biden administration, only serves to undermine our allies and jeopardize our national security. It is imperative that we have leaders who prioritize the safety and interests of Americans above all else.
