Covington Slams “Biased Judges” After UFC Defeat, Cries Political Foul Play

In the latest UFC showdown, conservative fighter Colby Covington faced off against Leon Edwards for the welterweight title. Unfortunately for Covington, Edwards walked away with the victory, dominating four out of the five rounds, according to all three judges’ scorecards. UFC President Dana White didn’t hold back either, commenting that Covington seemed “slow and old” during the fight.

However, Covington had other ideas about why he didn’t come out on top. During the post-fight press conference, Covington pointed the finger at the judges, claiming they’ve always been against him because of his unwavering support for former President Donald Trump. Sporting his signature Make America Great Again cap, Covington made it clear that he believes the judges’ decision was influenced by their distaste for his political preferences.

Covington didn’t stop there. He also took jabs at his opponent, Edwards, whom he taunted in the lead-up to the fight. Despite the outcome, Covington insisted that Edwards didn’t truly inflict much damage on him, aside from a few leg kicks. He confidently asserted that he thought he had secured the win and lamented that the biased anti-Trump sentiment in the arena likely played a role in the judgment against him.

This isn’t the first time Covington’s support for Trump has landed him in hot water. Following his interim welterweight championship win in 2018, he declared his intention to take the belt to the White House and place it on Donald Trump’s desk. True to his word, Covington did just that, paying a visit to the White House to present his belt to the former president.
