A conservative father in Colorado is taking a stand against what he sees as a radical LGBT agenda in his children’s school. Nathan Feldman, after seeing gay pride flags displayed throughout the school, demanded that a “straight pride flag” be included as well. When his request was denied, he decided to sue the school for violating his freedom of speech and engaging in viewpoint discrimination.

Feldman’s lawyer, Michael Yoder, criticized the “diversity and equity” policies in schools, accusing educators of sexualizing content in elementary schools. Yoder argues that schools push a one-sided discussion on these topics, promoting the radical left-wing and gay agenda without acknowledging opposing viewpoints.
The conflict began when Feldman visited his children’s kindergarten-eighth-grade school and saw the gay pride flags displayed. He felt that these flags were not inclusive and only represented one viewpoint on sexuality. Despite Feldman’s requests, the school ignored his concerns and informed him that their equity-based curriculum only applies to specific groups.
Feldman is now suing the school district, seeking $3 million in punitive damages. He hopes the lawsuit will force schools to engage in actual diversity, rather than practicing intentional discrimination and promoting a one-sided “diversity” agenda.
While some may disagree with Feldman’s position, civil rights attorney David Lane acknowledges that the school is practicing discrimination. Lane emphasizes that if the school allows any political speech, they must also allow all political speech of a related nature.
This case raises questions about the balance between promoting diversity and inclusivity while also respecting differing viewpoints. It is a reminder that schools should ensure that all perspectives are considered and that students have the opportunity to learn and form their own opinions.
