House Republicans are hitting the ground running, serving at food banks across the country because federal nutrition programs like SNAP have been frozen thanks to the government shutdown Democrats refuse to end. Meanwhile, demand at food banks has skyrocketed, with some seeing nearly a 50% increase. With government subsidies on hold, charities can’t fill the gap—folks are facing a food crisis born from D.C. gridlock and Democrat stubbornness.
