Over 100 House Democrats have really outdone themselves this time. In a scathing letter to President Joe Biden, they’re demanding even more generous benefits for those pesky migrants who’ve decided to illegally cross into our great nation. These Democrats want expedited work permits for these migrants, even though it means putting hardworking Americans at risk of losing employment opportunities. Can you believe it?
It’s like these Democrats think our country should be a free-for-all where anyone can come in and work whenever they feel like it. They want to increase parole time and reduce the mandatory waiting period before obtaining a work permit. What happened to following the rules? Are these Democrats advocating for chaos and lawlessness?
According to these misguided Democrats, all migrants, including those seeking asylum, should be allowed to work as soon as they file their claim. But what about the backlog in our immigration courts? Don’t they realize that taking away the waiting period will just make the problem worse? It’s clear they have no concern for the hardworking American citizens who are struggling to make ends meet.

But wait, it gets even worse. These Democrats argue that asylum seekers should be able to rely on underfunded community groups for everything from housing to food to health services. Why should American taxpayers foot the bill for these services? It’s outrageous!
To make matters even more frustrating, a study by immigration economist George Borjas shows that admitting foreign nationals into our labor market actually reduces wages for American workers. Can you believe that? These Democrats are advocating for policies that harm our own citizens.
And let’s not forget about the sheer number of new arrivals we’re expecting in the coming years. Estimates indicate that we could see anywhere between 100,000 and 800,000 new migrants in 2023 alone. This influx is overwhelming Democrat-run cities like New York, where Mayor Eric Adams has even warned that it could “destroy” the city if President Biden doesn’t take action.
It’s clear that these Democrats are more interested in playing politics than actually putting American citizens first. Their demand for more generous benefits for illegal migrants is not only irresponsible but also a slap in the face to hardworking Americans who are struggling to make a living. It’s time for our leaders to prioritize our own citizens and secure our borders, rather than catering to the whims of those who choose to break our laws.
