As the top-ranking candidate attending the debate, DeSantis is going to be center stage, soaking up that spotlight. But don’t you worry, he’s ready to take on all the shade that will surely be thrown his way.
According to DeSantis’s campaign spokesman, Andrew Romeo, every candidate is going to be gunning for him because they know he’s the only one who can beat Sleepy Joe Biden. I mean, come on! Former President Donald Trump dropped over $20 million to take down DeSantis because he knows he’s a force to be reckoned with. That’s a ringing endorsement if you ask me!
Sure, some people like former Obama adviser David Axelrod think DeSantis has the most to lose from this debate, but his campaign is focused on the positive. Just look at the numbers! A recent poll found that 61% of respondents either have DeSantis as their first or second choice, or they’re seriously considering him. He’s right on the heels of the front-runner, Trump himself. So who really needs a breakout moment here? It’s those other candidates who are barely registering on the polls, that’s who!
Now, I know DeSantis’s overall polling numbers have taken a bit of a dip since he entered the race. But hey, that’s just a sign that there’s room for improvement, right? Some Republican strategists see this as an opportunity for DeSantis to shine. They say he’s the most popular Republican among conservative activists in Iowa. And you know what? I believe it! This guy knows how to speak to the heartland and fight for our conservative values.
