During the recent GOP debate, there was a rumble between Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former United Nations ambassador and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley over the hot-button issue of China. DeSantis put on his boxing gloves and came out swinging, warning everyone about the dangers of China becoming a top dog in the world. He even compared China to the boogeyman of our parents’ generation, the Soviet Union! That’s some serious name-calling right there.
And that wasn’t all – DeSantis also took a swipe at Haley for cozying up to China, accusing her of rolling out the red carpet for the Chinese government in South Carolina and sending them mushy love letters. He even boasted about banning China from buying land in Florida and kicking those sneaky Confucius institutes out of their universities. That’s right, folks, DeSantis ain’t playing games when it comes to China, and he wants everyone to know it.

But wait, there’s more! DeSantis also made it crystal clear that he’s not a fan of TikTok, the app that’s a hit with kids but has ties to the Chinese Communist Party. He’s all about that “we win, they lose” mentality when it comes to China. DeSantis is talking about military stuff, economic stuff, and even cultural stuff – he’s leaving no stone unturned in this showdown with China.
