Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Blake Treinen has taken a strong stance against the team’s decision to have drag performers dressed as nuns perform during their Pride Night festivities. Treinen, a devout Christian, voiced his disapproval of the group’s inclusion, stating that it goes against his faith.
Who else agrees that politics should stay out of professional sports?
Let them play and stop pushing woke politics down our throats!https://t.co/OW5MGZfpGe

“Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. The word of God is true, and at Galatians 6:7, it says, ‘Do not be deceived, God cannot be mocked; a man reaps what he sows.’ This group openly mocks Jesus Christ, the cornerstone of my faith, and I want to make it clear that I do not agree with nor support the decision of the Dodgers’ to ‘honor’ the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,” Treinen declared.
My friend and @MLB pitcher Blake Treinen asked that I post this statement for him in regards to the @Dodgers honoring of the sisters of perpetual indulgence. #HoldTheLine pic.twitter.com/jIDeDJF8ke

The pitcher also commented on the importance of keeping political agendas and propaganda out of sports, saying that such decisions could lead to repercussions for brands that choose to ignore consumers’ voices. He cited Bud Light and Target, both of which faced backlash from conservative customers after they included LGBTQ-themed products and events.
“People like baseball for its entertainment value and competition. The fans do not want propaganda or politics forced on them. The debacle with Bud Light and Target should be a warning to companies and professional sports to stay true to their brand and leave the propaganda and politics off the field,” Treinen added.
The Sister of Perpetual Indulgence, the group of drag performers in question, was initially disinvited after their inclusion in the team’s festivities sparked outrage among religious leaders. However, after pressure from LGBTQ advocates, the Dodgers quickly backtracked on their decision and reinstated the group.
Treinen is not alone in his feelings about such events. More and more Americans are fed up with brands forcing political agendas and woke ideologies onto their customers. Unfortunately, it seems that many brands are only bending to the pressures of a vocal minority, rather than listening to the majority of their customers who just want to enjoy their products without the woke propaganda.
