In classic bureaucratic fashion, the letter from Uriarte also reminds the chairmen that the DOJ’s mission is to “maintain the integrity” of their investigations and prosecutions. Oh, how noble! They claim to be impartial and committed to the law and the facts. If only we could believe that.

Let’s face it, folks. The DOJ has been nothing short of a political weapon under Biden’s administration. So, forgive us if we’re not entirely comforted by their reassurances.
