In a recent airing of “The Rich Eisen Show,” the host expressed outrage over the rampant antisemitism that has infiltrated academic institutions. The troubling issue of anti-Israel activities on college campuses has now evolved into a systemic problem, with younger liberals leading the charge in promoting hatred towards Jews.
Eisen didn’t hold back in his criticism of the college heads, Liz Magill of UPenn, Claudine Gay of Harvard, and Sally Kornbluth of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who failed to condemn calls for Jewish genocide as harassment. The consequences were severe, with Magill losing her presidency and Gay facing ousting for numerous instances of plagiarism.

The sportscaster lambasted the academic leaders for their nonsensical defense and refusal to unequivocally condemn speech inciting genocide. Eisen rightly questioned the absurd notion that calling for the genocide of Jews should only be deemed harassment if it escalated into physical action. “Do we have to wait for the genocide to happen before taking action?” Eisen exclaimed.
Eisen’s fury was palpable as he highlighted the dangerous precedent set by these institutions’ failure to denounce such hateful rhetoric. The growing acceptance of Nazi-esque ideas within liberal academia and the alarming rise of antisemitism beyond college campuses, even in the professional world, underscored the gravity of the situation.
Before concluding the segment, Eisen underscored the non-political nature of the issue, emphasizing the colleges’ irresponsible tolerance of speech that has historically resulted in widespread suffering and loss of life. It was a powerful indictment of the appalling failure by higher education to address and combat virulent antisemitism.
