In a recent episode of Joe Rogan’s podcast, Elon Musk dropped a bombshell revelation: he bought Twitter in order to rid the world of its “mind virus.” While some may find this statement melodramatic, Musk explained that he was genuinely concerned about the corrosive effect the platform was having on society. He particularly pointed out the dire state of downtown San Francisco, where Twitter’s headquarters are located, comparing it to a zombie apocalypse.

Musk firmly believes that the city’s downfall is not simply a matter of chance. He attributes it to a certain philosophy that was being promoted and spread through Twitter. This philosophy, which he describes as a “mind virus,” has the power to suppress opposing viewpoints and propagate its harmful beliefs. Rogan agreed with Musk, acknowledging that he himself had faced cancelation attempts for expressing dissenting opinions.
This is not the first time Musk has voiced concerns about the impact of this “woke mind virus.” In a previous interview with Bill Maher, he warned about the dangers of anti-meritocracy and the suppression of free speech. According to him, these two aspects of the virus are particularly harmful and have a detrimental effect on young people.
While Musk’s assertion may sound outlandish to some, his criticism of Twitter and its influence on society cannot be ignored. As he continues to work on various projects aimed at improving humanity, it seems that no issue, no matter how big or small, escapes his attention.
