Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez suggesting a trip to the sun to study global warming is nothing more than a product of artificial intelligence. The original footage, from an interview Ocasio-Cortez had with “Face the Nation,” has been cleverly manipulated to make it seem like she was proposing a mission to the sun to collect samples. Text overlaid on the video only adds to the comedic effect, saying, “Not actually the dumbest idea she’s had…” Ouch, that’s gotta hurt.
But fear not, my fellow truth seekers. A fact check investigation by Check Your Fact has confirmed that this video is as fake as a politician’s promise during campaign season. No credible news reports can confirm the existence of this sun-trip suggestion. It was even posted by an account that admits to sharing doctored videos. Talk about a smoking gun.
The original interview with Ocasio-Cortez on “Face the Nation” shows no such comments being made. In fact, the video cleverly alters the show’s logo to say “Fake the Nation.” Oh, the irony. Fact Check reached out to Ocasio-Cortez and “Face the Nation” for comment, but it seems they are too busy laughing at the absurdity of it all to respond.
