John Fetterman, the Senator who can’t be bothered to put on pants, is back at it again. Fetterman recently made an appearance on Joy Reid’s show to defend his right to dress like a slob in the Senate chamber. But in doing so, he took a shot at Ted Cruz, completely missing the point of the dress code controversy.
Let’s first address Reid’s ridiculous argument. She brings up Senator Kyrsten Sinema as an example of someone who doesn’t adhere to the dress code. However, Sinema has never shown up to work in gym shorts and a hoodie like Fetterman. Instead, she wears colorful dresses, which some liberals have actually criticized her for. It’s absurd for Reid to equate trendy outfits with looking like a hobo.
But let’s get back to Fetterman. It’s clear that his ability to think logically has been impaired by his massive stroke. He seems to believe that the only options are to have a dress code or to deal with corruption. It’s like saying you can’t drive a car because you want to eat an orange. The two have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
The real issue here is Fetterman’s incompetence and lack of respect for his position. If a person is so depressed that they can’t even put on a pair of pants, they shouldn’t be making decisions that impact millions of Americans. And let’s not forget about the degradation of the Senate itself. This institution has a long history and is filled with standards set by generations before us. It’s shameful that Fetterman is willing to throw all of that away because he can’t handle wearing pants. If he were a Republican, even Democrats would agree that his behavior is unacceptable.
It’s time for Fetterman to either step up and start acting like a professional or step aside and let someone else do the job. We deserve better than a Senator who can’t be bothered to dress appropriately and respect the institution he serves.
