The House Homeland Security Committee Republicans fired back at Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in a fiery letter on Wednesday. One instance detailed in the letter involved a member of the notorious al-Shabaab terrorist group slipping through the southern border. The individual was initially apprehended near San Ysidro, California, but then shockingly released into the U.S. interior because of a “mismatch.” Who let this guy through? It’s like the security team took a nap on the job!
The letter also mentioned a Pakistani man, suspected to be on the terrorist watch list, who managed to make his way into the country. The cherry on top? After being confirmed as a terror suspect by the Terrorist Screening Center, ICE still went ahead and released him under their Alternatives to Detention program. Talk about dropping the ball!
To make matters worse, the DHS has been accused of keeping crucial information under wraps regarding illegal aliens matching the descriptions of those on the Terrorist Watch List. It’s like they’re playing a twisted version of “Where’s Waldo,” except it’s “Where’s the Terrorist” and nobody seems to know for sure.
Adding fuel to the fire, a lawsuit alleged that Mayorkas refused to comply with a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) related to the Terrorist Watch List. If that’s not shady, then what is?
