In yet another example of radical leftist overreach, Democratic Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has shamefully repealed the state’s 1931 abortion ban. This decision was reached after a lengthy court battle, during which Whitmer made it abundantly clear that she has no respect for the sanctity of human life.
Today, we are repealing Michigan’s extreme 1931 law that bans abortion and criminalized nurses and doctors for doing their jobs.
This is long overdue. 🧵 pic.twitter.com/PCOqJhTtb4

This move by Whitmer comes after the Supreme Court overturned the 1973 landmark decision Roe v. Wade, which blocked the enforcement of abortion bans until about 24 weeks into a pregnancy. While other states rushed to enact pro-life legislation to protect innocent lives, Michigan’s 1931 law remained in place. However, a November ballot measure finally enshrined legal abortion up to 24 weeks, allowing Whitmer to finally nullify the old law.

Whitmer made her outrageous decision official on Wednesday, claiming that it was necessary to bring state statutes and laws more in line with her far-left values. The 1931 ban made it a felony punishable by four years in jail to assist someone in obtaining an abortion, but Whitmer has now stripped away this vital protection for unborn babies.
Whitmer’s decision was met with widespread condemnation from pro-life advocates across the country, who have been fighting tirelessly to protect the most vulnerable human beings. Whitmer’s campaign pledge to repeal the abortion ban was a slap in the face to Michigan residents who value the sanctity of human life.
This is just another example of the extreme leftist agenda that Whitmer and her allies are pushing. Conservatives must stand up against these radical policies that would destroy our moral and ethical foundations. The fight to protect the unborn will continue, despite the best efforts of Whitmer and her ilk.
