The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has recently released the body-worn camera footage of the heroic officers who took down Audrey Elizabeth Hale, a 28-year-old transgender shooter. Hale, who went by a trans name “Aiden,” was a former Covenant School student who committed a horrific shooting. This shooting resulted in the loss of three innocent children and three faculty members, including the school’s head. However, this piece of news will not be recognized by the mainstream media as a mass killing because a transgender person committed it.

The footage shows Officer Rex Engelbert, a four-year MNPD veteran, and Officer Michael Collazo, a nine-year MNPD veteran. The two officers encountered Hale firing through a window of the second-floor common area at police cars that were arriving on the scene. Thanks to their quick-thinking, bravery, and expertise, they were able to neutralize the threat effectively.

According to the report, Hale’s attack was “calculated and planned.” However, this doesn’t come as a surprise because the shooter had a “manifesto” that was found alongside a map. Hale’s motive is still unknown, but regardless, this is another reminder that we need to keep a closer eye on those who may potentially inflict harm on our society. This is also the reason why we need to secure our schools to ensure the safety of our children.
Hale arrived at the school armed with three guns and managed to shoot her way through the doors on the side of the building. The fact that Hale had so many firearms on hand is appalling and another example of why guns need to be regulated more heavily. Nevertheless, the mainstream media refuses to acknowledge that Hale committed this heinous act because they are more interested in protecting the LGBTQ community than reporting the facts.
It is crucial to honor and remember the brave officers who risked their lives to save others. Their heroism should be highlighted and not ignored. We cannot let a tragedy such as this be swept under the rug because of political correctness. It’s time to have hard and candid conversations about what’s happening in our society, and it’s time to fix it.
