Hunter Biden Evades Gun Charges, Points Finger at Trump, MAGA Allies

In a court filing, Hunter Biden’s attorneys are arguing that federal gun charges against him should be dismissed because the special counsel appointed by the Biden administration is allegedly doing the bidding of former President Donald Trump and his allies.

Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to charges of lying about his drug use when buying a gun in 2018. The charges were initially supposed to be resolved as part of a plea deal last summer, but the deal fell through. U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who was leading the investigation, was then appointed as a special counsel and filed new indictments against Hunter Biden in December.

Hunter Biden’s attorney claims that the charges are politically motivated and that he is being targeted because he is the son of a sitting Democratic President and a political rival of former President Trump. Hunter Biden’s attorneys also argue that the prosecution’s decision to bring new charges violates their own non-prosecution agreement. They are requesting that the rejected plea deal be restored.
