Another day, another embarrassment for Kamala Harris as the latest scandal surrounding her staged video during Hurricane Milton unfolds. Just days before Milton wreaked havoc on the Florida coastline, the Democrat presidential hopeful was busy trying to twist the narrative, blaming Governor Ron DeSantis for not playing along with her theatrics after Hurricane Helene had already put the Sunshine State in turmoil. However, true to form, the Harris team opted to edit the footage for maximum impact, conveniently omitting the parts that made her look like the self-serving politician many have come to know her as. A quick examination revealed that 38 seconds of crucial context was left on the cutting room floor – just another day in the life of a political figure obsessed with crafting an image that doesn’t align with reality.

As if that weren’t enough, the complete tape from the mayor’s end made it clear that Harris wanted to paint herself as a “devout public servant.” This declaration was particularly rich coming from someone who was recently seen rubbing elbows with wealthy donors while the devastation from Hurricane Helene unfolded. One has to wonder: is she really that tone-deaf or simply incapable of recognizing the optics of her actions? Amidst rising casualty counts and widespread damage, Harris was more interested in dazzling her wealthy compatriots than genuinely addressing the needs of the citizens of North Carolina and Florida.
This is not the first time Harris has stumbled into a PR disaster by overplaying her hand. Just weeks prior, she faced backlash for sharing a photo op under the guise of compassion while attending lavish fundraisers days after Helene left wreckage in her wake. Voters can’t help but notice a pattern with this candidate, whose political career operates entirely in the realm of crafted images and directed narratives, much like the current president, who is rarely seen without the usual aides and teleprompters.
At some point, the American public must ask whether they want a leader whose authenticity is as phony as an overpriced Hollywood production. Kamala Harris seems committed to playing the part of a compassionate leader while her actions tell an entirely different story. The truth is, she’s too busy pursuing the political ladder to effectively serve the very constituents she claims to care about. If voters want genuine leadership that prioritizes the needs of the people above political gamesmanship, they’ll need to look elsewhere.
