After being acquitted of murder charges in a clear cut case of self-defense, young Kyle Rittenhouse is back in the news! This weekend, he announced that he has filed a counter lawsuit against Gaige Grosskreutz, the man he shot in the arm during the 2020 BLM riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin. It’s about time that someone rightfully stood up to Großkreutz’s baseless lawsuit!

As anyone who followed Rittenhouse’s trial would know, Grosskreutz chased Rittenhouse and threatened him with a loaded handgun. Fortunately, Rittenhouse acted quickly and was able to protect himself by shooting in self-defense. However, Grosskreutz did not let it go and sued Rittenhouse, claiming that he suffered from emotional distress, humiliation, and other pain and suffering. This is just another example of frivolous lawsuits where the perpetrator sues the victim.

It’s no secret that the BLM riots in Kenosha were nothing short of anarchy. The Kenosha Police Department and Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department were unable to maintain law and order, which led to the civil unrest in the first place. In response, citizens like Rittenhouse had no choice but to take matters into their own hands to protect themselves and their community.
It’s absurd that Grosskreutz believes that he is the victim here. The lawsuit he filed claimed that “the law enforcement Defendants deputized these armed individuals, conspired with them, and ratified their actions by letting them patrol the streets, armed with deadly weapons, to mete out justice as they saw fit.” This is a complete misrepresentation of the situation. Since law enforcement was unable to contain the riots, ordinary citizens had to step up to protect themselves and others. Grosskreutz appears to be suing anyone and everyone he can, and it’s time he faces consequences for his actions.
Thankfully, Kyle Rittenhouse is not one to back down from a fight. He told Fox News that he’s ready to prove his innocence once again in this silly lawsuit. Conservatives across America should continue to support this brave young man who stood up for his community against the leftist thugs who were trying to finish the job that rioting and anarchy had started.
