A recently obtained email has exposed the depths to which former CIA Director Mike Morell went to help Joe Biden win the 2020 presidential election. The damning email shows an effort to create pushback against President Donald Trump before the election. This email was sent by Morell to John Brennan, another former CIA Director, and reveals that there was little care for creating actual intelligence products, rather this was undeniably a political attempt to sway American voters.

In the midst of the 2020 election, 51 intelligence agents signed a letter stating that the Hunter Biden laptop story was disinformation and potentially part of a Russian disinformation campaign. With Morell and Brennon’s help, this orchestrated letter was nothing more than a political dirty trick coordinated with the Biden campaign, as it was meant to give the Democratic nominee a “talking point to push back on Trump on this issue” during a presidential debate.

It is disheartening to see that people who are supposed to protect the country’s well-being are instead interfering in elections. In any other profession, the actions of Morrell and Brennan would be considered outright unethical, if not illegal. Their behavior induces negative effects and should not be taken lightly or ignored.
The fact that Morell, a man with a security clearance and a title as a CIA Director, influenced a political campaign in this way is unacceptable. He showed more concern for the success of his political party than for the welfare of the nation. It’s important to remember that political divisions and actions like this are harmful to the core of all that democracy should mean. If these orchestrated lies and intentions go unnoticed, the future of our country could be subjected to a foundation of political lying and deceit unrestrained by the rule of law.
