The Left has struck again, targeting one of the greatest conservative Supreme Court justices of all time, Clarence Thomas. The latest smear campaign comes from ProPublica which has alleged that Justice Thomas went on luxury vacations with his super-rich friend, GOP donor Harlan Crow. Unsurprisingly, the Left has latched onto this report and has been pushing the narrative of unethical impropriety on the part of Thomas since his confirmation hearings.

But before we get into the absurdity of these allegations, let’s take a moment to talk about the hypocrisy of the Left. They are the ones who expelled lawmakers over the past week for alleged misconduct, yet they are quick to defend their own when similar allegations arise. It’s like a game for them; if they can take down a conservative justice, they will stop at nothing to do so.
This is beyond party or partisanship. This degree of corruption is shocking – almost cartoonish. Thomas must be impeached.

But let’s get back to the story at hand. David Harsanyi at The Federalist has expertly assessed these allegations and has found them to be nothing more than a baseless attack on Justice Thomas. As Harsanyi points out, Thomas has absolutely no legal obligation to disclose where he goes on vacation to journalists or anyone else. Furthermore, there is not a single substantive instance of anything remotely approaching a conflict of interest. Yet, the Left continues to push their narrative of corruption.
One of the most vocal critics of Justice Thomas is the ever-outraged Democratic Congresswoman from New York, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. She has called for Thomas to be impeached and removed from the Court, claiming that he is engaging in unethical behavior. But what is truly laughable is that AOC is currently under a Congressional ethics investigation herself. The irony is just too much to bear.
And let’s not forget about the details of Justice Thomas’ statement, which puts these allegations to rest. He and his wife have been close friends with the Crows for over 25 years, and have joined them on a number of family trips. Thomas consulted with colleagues and others in the judiciary earlier in his career, who advised that this sort of personal hospitality from close personal friends, who did not have business before the Court, was not reportable. It is his intent to follow the new guidance going forward. It is clear that Thomas has done nothing wrong.
In conclusion, these allegations against Justice Thomas are nothing more than a desperate attempt by the Left to take down a conservative justice. There is no evidence to suggest that Thomas engaged in any unethical behavior, and the Left should focus on real issues instead of making baseless attacks. They should also take a good long look in the mirror before attempting to throw stones at Justice Thomas, given their own ethical problems.
