Is dating a liberal akin to entering a different dimension? For many men, the perspective is clear: they are more willing to give love a chance across political lines, while women, particularly those educated and burdened by liberal ideologies, are far less amenable. A staggering 84% of college-educated liberal women see a red hat as the ultimate deal-breaker. What’s next? Measuring compatibility via political slogans instead of compatibility on Tinder?
Among the dating pool, single Democrats appear to have a strict cutoff. A whopping 71% declare outright that they’d never even contemplate a romance with a Trump voter. Apparently, these folks feel their dating choices should reflect their political views, leading to a situation where political beliefs trump attraction. It certainly seems that the left is spending more time swiping left than engaging in any meaningful discussions about love and relationships.

As politics continues to divide America, traditional notions of attraction are replaced with criteria that would make any Cupid weep. The days when opposites might attract belong to yesterday, and instead, liberals have cultivated a culture where dating someone with even slightly different views could be disastrous. The dynamics are clear: they prefer MSNBC to FOX News and tofu to a good old-fashioned Texas steak. It’s almost like living in different worlds, where each side is perfectly content to remain within the walls of their respective echo chambers.
Former bachelor life provided enough variety to know that politics was rarely at the forefront of romantic pursuits. Physical attraction held more weight than whether or not a gal supported universal healthcare or wanted to ban straws. If a guy had the choice between romantic ideals and physical allure, most would opt for the latter without hesitation. Isn’t that simply human nature, or has political correctness ruined that too?
The perpetual loneliness among liberals stems from their unwillingness to embrace diversity in thought—not just diversity in skin color or ethnicity. Ironically, while they tout the virtues of inclusivity and acceptance, a large swath is missing the point completely. If they opened their hearts and minds to engage with those who think differently, they might just find love—along with a hearty debate about fiscal responsibility.
It’s no secret that the current zeitgeist has turned singles into such strident political creatures that they risk ending up alone with their ideologies. After all, is it truly worth sacrificing romantic prospects over political allegiance? For those who engage in the great American political drama, it seems love may be the thing that gets lost in translation amid the noise. Meanwhile, as November approaches, many might soon face the daunting prospect of uniting in matrimony with someone who, shockingly, can watch a different news channel without suffering an emotional meltdown.
