Yet another government decision during the COVID-19 pandemic has led to disastrous consequences for America’s vulnerable youth. When schools were locked down, teens were robbed of their educational futures, missing out on sporting events, graduations, memories of a lifetime, and were forced to spend an overwhelming amount of time on social media that led to record depression and despair. Study after study has shown that young people are suffering, and now, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released a survey that proves the alarming condition of teen mental health.

The numbers are frightening, particularly for teen girls. More than half of teen girls, or 57%, reported feeling “persistently sad or hopeless,” and around one-third of high school girls in the U.S. have seriously considered attempting suicide, the survey discovered. What’s even more troubling is that 70% of LGBQ+ students experienced persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness and poor mental health during the past year, and almost 25% of these students attempted suicide during the same year.
More young people than ever are feeling sad or hopeless. We can work together to protect their mental health by helping them build strong connections to caring adults at school. Learn more about youth mental health and the power of connectedness: https://t.co/i9pgamnc1d

Gee, I wonder why. Maybe the incessant leftist indoctrination reinforced by social media some of which is controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.

To solve this crisis, the CDC, the federal government agency that caused this problem in the first place by locking down America’s youth, is trying to help the kids it has harmed by reaching out and advocating for strong connections between students and caring adults at school. However, this may cause more harm than good. The CDC is known for its endorsement of gender reassignment surgery for minors and attacking parental rights under the guise of “gender equity,” supported by none other than President Biden himself, which raises red flags.
It is long overdue for the government to focus on the mental health crisis that they created during the pandemic, especially nearing the end of the second year of this problem. It is time to hold the government accountable for its damaging decisions. Instead of simply advocating for “strong connections,” the government should focus on empowering families and communities to act in the best interest of their children. America’s youth deserves better than what the government has to offer.
