In a hilarious mishap, CBS News mistakenly referred to Joe Biden as a “former president” in their report on the Camp David summit between South Korea and Japan. Whoops! Luckily, screenshots are forever, so we can all have a good laugh at this little oversight.

But let’s not get too caught up in the silliness, because there are more important things to talk about. Like the devastating wildfire on the island of Maui in Hawaii. This is the deadliest wildfire the island has seen in 100 years, with over 100 people dead and still at least 1,000 missing. It’s going to take months to fully assess the damages and account for the lives lost.

You know what would be great? If Joe Biden could take some time out of his busy schedule to visit Hawaii and show support for the victims of this tragedy. The people of Maui could use some presidential reassurance right about now. And while he’s at it, maybe he can look into the response from state officials and Hawaiian Electric, the power company in the state. It turns out that Hawaiian Electric knew about the risk of cutting off power to lines during high winds, which likely sparked the fire. It’s time for some accountability and answers.
But hey, maybe Joe Biden is too busy being a “former president” to lend a helping hand. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
