In a recent interview on MSNBC, Susan Glaser of The New Yorker made the bold claim that former President Barack Obama’s enduring popularity is due to the fact that he had no scandals during his administration. Now, this claim is quite astonishing considering the laundry list of scandals that plagued Obama’s time in office.

Let’s not forget the Fast and Furious scandal, where his administration knowingly allowed guns to be trafficked to Mexican cartels, resulting in the death of a U.S. Border Patrol agent. Or how about the Solyndra scandal, where the Obama administration wasted billions of taxpayer dollars on a failed green energy company?

And who can forget about the IRS targeting conservative non-profit organizations? Under Obama’s watch, the IRS singled out conservative groups for extra scrutiny and denied them their rightful tax-exempt status. That’s anything but scandal-free.
And let’s not brush aside the infamous Taliban Five prisoner swap, where Obama released five high-ranking Taliban terrorists in exchange for an Army deserter. This reckless move put American lives at risk and undermined our national security.
It’s astonishing that Glaser would overlook these scandals and instead claim that Obama had a scandal-free presidency. But I suppose it’s no surprise, considering her bias towards the left. The fact of the matter is that Obama’s presidency was riddled with scandals, and his popularity among Democrats is a testament to their blind loyalty, rather than his supposed clean record.
