In a shocking turn of events, a U.S. Navy sailor has been charged with espionage after allegedly leaking sensitive military materials to a foreign government agent multiple times over a span of six months. Chief Petty Officer Fire Controlman Bryce Pedicini, a 16-year Navy veteran stationed in Japan, is now facing a general court-martial for his alleged actions onboard the U.S.S. Higgins, a guided-missile destroyer.
According to reports, Pedicini is accused of passing classified documents or materials to an individual linked to a foreign government on at least seven occasions from November 2022 to May 2023. The U.S. Naval Institute revealed that Pedicini’s illicit activities began in Virginia and continued during his time in Yokosuka, Japan.
