Nikki Haley Unveils Bold Plan to Slash IRS and Fix Border Crisis

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and Republican candidate for the 2024 elections, Nikki Haley, visited the U.S.-Mexico border to unveil her proposal to fix the illegal immigration crisis overwhelming the country. Miss Haley’s plan included the institution of the mandatory E-Verify program for employers to guarantee they are not hiring illegal aliens, and cutting back the IRS by 87,000 workers to instead increase the number of Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to 25,000 at a minimum. During a press conference with Texas Representative Tony Gonzales in Eagle Pass, Texas, Haley also suggested an end to taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal immigrants and defunding sanctuary cities. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has marked a record high surge of illegal immigration in the United States prompting Miss Haley’s visit.

Miss Haley went on to say that the most imperative action the government could take was to stop catch and release and begin catch and deport, stating that this would be the strongest deterrent to illegal immigration. According to federal authorities, there have been more than 2.3 million migrant encounters in the current fiscal year of 2022 and over 1 million encounters between October 2022 and February 2023.

Miss Haley emphasized that this is not a partisan issue; rather, it is a national security issue that requires appropriate attention. Haley also stated that the blame should fall on President Biden for the massive surge in illegal immigration, with his administration failing to label the crisis for what it is and take the required measures to fix it. Miss Haley believes that both parties need to come together to fix the issue.

In addition, Miss Haley also suggested bringing back the “Remain in Mexico” policy, which forces illegal immigrants to wait for their court cases to be completed south of the border. She also pushed to maintain the “Title 42,” the expulsion order instituted during the Trump administration which prevented further spread of COVID-19.

In conclusion, the illegal immigration crisis must be addressed immediately as it is a severe threat to our homeland security, causing harm to both citizens and non-citizens alike. Thankfully, Nikki Haley is a candidate we might be able to trust to do what’s right, unlike the current administration.
