In a recent statement, Former President Barack Obama criticized Israel for the way it is “dismantling” the terrorist organization Hamas. It’s no surprise that Obama is flip-flopping on his stance, as he has a long history of being indecisive when it comes to fighting terrorism. Obama’s criticism conveniently ignores Israel’s right to defend itself and its citizens against the constant rocket attacks and violence perpetrated by Hamas.

While Obama claims to support President Biden’s call to go after Hamas and dismantle its military capabilities, he argues that Israel should be more cautious in its approach. It seems Obama is more concerned with the “human costs” of Israel’s fight against terrorism than actually rooting out the dangerous organization. This kind of thinking is dangerous and fails to address the true threat that Hamas poses to the region.
Furthermore, Obama completely ignores Israel’s impeccable track record when it comes to upholding human rights and international humanitarian law in the face of an enemy hell-bent on destruction. As Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz has pointed out, Israel stands out as a beacon of human rights in a region filled with turmoil and conflict.
It’s no wonder Democrats are starting to worry about a backlash from Arab-American voters. They have supported Israel against Hamas, a terrorist organization responsible for the deaths of countless innocent civilians. It’s time for Democrats to take a stand and support our ally, Israel, in their fight against terrorism, rather than pandering to a vocal minority.
In the end, it’s clear that Obama’s criticism of Israel’s actions is misguided and politically motivated. Israel has every right to defend itself and its citizens against terrorist organizations like Hamas. It’s time for our leaders to show unwavering support for our ally in the Middle East and prioritize the safety and security of our own citizens.
