Sen. Tim Scott, an outspoken conservative from the great state of South Carolina, let out a hearty “harrumph” on Monday as he ranted and raved against the New York appeals court’s decision to slash former President Donald Trump’s civil fraud judgement to $175 million. That’s a whopping $289 million less than the original penalty! Can you believe it? It’s enough to make a bald eagle shed a single red, white, and blue tear.
In response to the legal bombshell, Scott took to the airwaves, declaring on Fox News’s The Story with Martha McCallum that it was “disgusting” for anyone to have to cough up $175 million when, in his opinion, there’s no crime and no victim. It’s like paying full price for a sandwich at a deli that forgot to put your pickles on. Outrageous!

But the senator didn’t stop there. Oh no, he went on to call the ruling “as close to election interference as I can imagine.” You heard that right – he’s comparing a legal decision to meddling in an election. It’s like saying someone who buys a cake is interfering with the baker’s frosting technique. The nerve of those judges!
Scott didn’t hold back when it came to his views on the justice system either, claiming that “Lady Justice” had lost her blindfold and was playing favorites in this civil fraud trial. It’s like a referee at a basketball game calling fouls based on who has the fanciest shoes. Come on, ref, make the right call!
And just when you thought he was finished, Scott let loose about the media, national media on the Left, and the Department of Justice, accusing them of making Trump out to be a victim. He even suggested that they were playing a little game of “Let’s be unfair to the former president.” Can you imagine that? It’s like a bunch of magicians trying to pull a rabbit out of a hat that just keeps hopping away.
To top it all off, Scott agreed with his colleague Sen. Marco Rubio and his comments about public service and the vice presidency. It seems the two of them are just itching for the chance to serve alongside a certain former president in 2024. It’s like a game of political musical chairs, and these two want to make sure they have a seat when the music stops.
These two senators aren’t the only ones in the running, though. There’s a whole lineup of contenders vying for the role of Trump’s second-in-command, including some familiar faces like Reps. Byron Donalds, Elise Stefanik, and Gov. Kristi Noem. It’s like a reality TV show, but instead of roses, they’re competing for red hats.
