Former President Donald Trump accused Robert F. Kennedy Jr. of being even more liberal than Democratic candidates like Jill Stein and Cornel West. He said that the Democratic Party used “Fascist tactics” to oust Kennedy from the party, as he was taking votes away from President Joe Biden. Trump also claimed that Kennedy is not truly an Independent but a “Radical Left Lunatic.”

Trump’s criticisms of Kennedy come after expressing concerns that Kennedy’s independent campaign could hurt both Trump and Biden. Recent polling has shown that Trump would beat Biden by large margins if Kennedy were to enter the race, indicating that Kennedy’s campaign has gained traction and is attracting votes from both Democrats and Republicans.
As the gap between himself and Biden closes, Trump has been using social media to portray Kennedy as a far-left Democrat. He labeled Kennedy as a Democratic plant whose purpose is to help Biden’s reelection bid, warning that a vote for Kennedy would be a “wasted protest vote.”
In his social media posts, Trump accused Kennedy of being anti-gun, an extreme environmentalist, a heavy taxer, a proponent of open borders, and anti-military/veteran. He urged Republicans to learn about Kennedy’s true positions and claimed that voting for Kennedy would only benefit the Democrats.
