Former President Donald Trump received the official nod as the Republican nominee on the opening day of the GOP convention, clinching the support of all 1,215 delegates required for the nomination. The announcement was proudly made by Eric Trump, representing the Florida delegation, who vocally declared his father as the greatest president in history.
In a show of unity within the Republican Party, former competitor Nikki Haley graciously released her delegates to rally behind Trump’s candidacy. Haley, who had garnered 95 delegates during her run in the primaries, now stands firmly in support of the former president.
