Former President Donald Trump has responded to a public challenge from President Joe Biden for two debates. Trump, using his Truth Social platform, said, “Crooked Joe Biden is the WORST debater I have ever faced — He can’t put two sentences together!” and called Biden “the WORST President in the history of the United States.” Trump expressed his eagerness to debate Biden, criticizing his policies on Open Border, Electric Vehicle Mandates, Inflation, High Taxes, and Foreign Policy.
The Biden campaign has pushed for a June debate as a response to Trump’s lead in the polls. Biden’s campaign has proposed its own rules, including a preference for certain networks to host the debate and the absence of a live audience. They propose firm time limits for answers and alternate turns to speak, aiming for an exchange of views over a spectacle of mutual interruption. They also advocate for candidates’ microphones to only be active during their turn to speak.

This development comes as the Biden campaign has declined to participate in three debates organized by the Commission on Presidential Debates, scheduled for Sept. 16, Oct. 1, and Oct. 9. Trump’s campaign has criticized this decision and slammed the debate commission for what they call an “unacceptable” scheduling decision.
