In a fiery exchange on Newsmax, former President Donald Trump’s lawyer, Alina Habba, didn’t hold back her thoughts on New York Attorney General Letitia James, calling her “just not that bright.” Habba’s comments come in response to James bringing a civil fraud case against Trump, accusing him and his sons of inflating the value of their assets to obtain better insurance rates.

Habba dismissed the case, claiming that James and her lawyers have no idea what they’re talking about. She defended Trump, stating that his loan application process was no different from anyone else’s. She argued that banks never state the true value of an asset when giving a loan, and instead, they only provide the loan amount.
Habba further suggested that James needs to educate herself and described the case as “ridiculous” and “completely insane.” She criticized the circus-like atmosphere and implied that those involved lacked common sense. Habba’s comments mirror Trump’s past criticisms of both James and the judge, whom he believes are politically motivated against him.
The trial continues, with Judge Arthur Engoron already ruling that fraud has taken place. As the case moves forward, Habba and Trump remain steadfast in their defense, challenging the allegations made against them. With tensions high and accusations flying, it’s clear that this legal battle is nowhere near its end.
